My four-month investigation into air traffic control in Colorado led me to a former controller who left the industry because of the strain. I then discovered the FAA and NATCA (the air traffic controllers’ union) had big plans for the Colorado Springs airport; once I asked the FAA about those plans they abruptly changed course.
